One book singled out in this regard is the Song of Solomon. Due to Solomon’s infamy for rampant polygamy later in life, his marital state and motives for writing Song of Solomon are not just questioned but openly declared a monument to lust, premarital sex, and/or excessive polygamy. The Wisdom of Solomon (known as the Book of Wisdom in the Latin Bible tradition) is a book about wisdom—its benefits, nature, and role in ancient Israel’s history. It is more an exhortation to pursue wisdom than a collection of wise teachings (as in Proverbs, Sirach, and Ecclesiastes).
Song of Solomon is the best and greatest of all the songs Solomon wrote. As a lyric it must be approached and read differently from the way we read a narrative or dramatic poem. It focuses on sensuous experience and concludes by commenting on its meaning, thereby making it part of biblical wisdom literature. The Book of Wisdom of Solomon. This book is about God's wisdom. Its composition was influenced by the Proverbs of Solomon, and therefore the name of Solomon is included in the title. Yet the book of Wisdom was produced many centuries after the death of Solomon. It was written in Greek and is not found in the Hebrew Bible.
